Nicole Tringali, Branch Manger in North America
Meet our colleague Nicole Tringali and get to know what she has to say about her role as a Branch Manager and about working at TK Elevator.
TK Elevator: Please tell us a little about yourself, your studies and career?
Nicole: I spent the first half of my life in Michigan and the second half in Texas. I am a wife, stepmother, yogi, and elevator geek. I have had a job since I was 15 and worked full time while going to college. I studied business and graduated with my bachelor’s degree from University of Houston. The first commercial elevator I sold was a DMC (elevator system), and I successfully sold all four lines of business (new installation, service, repair and modernization) before becoming a service and repair sales manager.
TK Elevator: What do you like the most about TK Elevator as an Employer?
Nicole: Their commitment to the safety of our employees. For more than 20 years I have seen consistent improvement in our safety culture. From the introduction of the 5 behavioral safety traps to acknowledging employees who have a positive impact on the safety of others. TK Elevator says, “safety first” and they put their money (and their time) where their mouth is.
TK Elevator: How would you describe your position and your tasks within your role at TK Elevator to a friend?
Nicole: I oversee a large, diverse group of people whose common goal it is to make it home safe every day, make money for themselves and the company, and provide our customers with what they need to do their jobs. Number one is safety. Throughout the month I work with my management team to ensure that all safety observations are completed in a timely manner. I track weekly tool box talks and quarterly safety training, as well as plan the monthly safety committee meeting. I work every day with our accounts receivable team to delegate locally when they do not get a response from our customers, review invoice disputes/credit requests, and negotiate payments from the customers. I review Net Promoter Score surveys (customer survey) and contact the customer to thank them for their participation, and/or initiate resolution if there are outstanding issues. I work with the sales manager to keep track of sales activities (sales, quoting, cap planning, customer visits and risk of loss). I meet with service/repair operations every morning to make sure we are staying on top of calls coming in, retrofits, scheduling repairs, and completing maintenance. The key is to have a team you can rely on. We support one another to get the job done.
AS A BRANCH MANAGER, MY TOP PRIORITY IS TO EMPOWER MY COLLEAGUES TO TAKE ON RESPONSIBILITIES AND OVERCOME CHALLENGES. THEREFORE, THE MOST REWARDING PART OF MY ROLE IS SEEING MY TEAM SUCCEED. THAT POSITIVE ENERGY IS INFECTIOUS.

Branch Manager in North America
TK Elevator: Can you describe what a typical working day looks like for you?
Nicole: Have you heard of a thing called a “Teams” meeting? Well, there are a lot of those scattered though out the day. Since COVID restrictions have lifted we try to meet in person for all local meetings. However, many internal meetings involve multiple branches, so Teams meetings are very convenient. Although some meetings must be in person, customers find it to be very efficient as well. I am involved in sales and operations meetings for all lines of business, and organizations such as IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management) and BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association). We divide and conquer at our branch, so a lot of time is spent communicating both internally and externally to confirm everything is being addresses in a timely manner.
TK Elevator: What excites you most about your job and what is most rewarding about your role at TK Elevator?
Nicole: Seeing the people around me succeed. It could be hitting a goal, mastering a new system/process, or earning a promotion. People who like what they do are usually good at it too. That positive energy is infectious.
TK Elevator: What do you find most challenging?
Nicole: Leading through major change. It could be internal change like reorganization or the rollout of a new system, or external change like COVID- 19. Change can be scary, but it is necessary for growth.
TK Elevator: What is a benefit of working here that not many people know about?
Nicole: The opportunities are endless, and TK Elevator can grow with you. It could be relocating to another part of the country or to a different department. They are diverse and cover a wide range of experience and education.
TK Elevator: What would you tell a friend if he or she wants to apply for a similar role at TK Elevator?
Nicole: Do it! The people who work here are amazing. Our mechanics in the field, operations team, coordinators, salespeople, and regional leadership are all willing to step in, help, teach and learn new things. You will be working with people who care.
Nicole, thank you very much!
