Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport becomes the first major airport globally to remotely operate Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs) across five terminals. MAX Automate redefines digital airport operations by enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and safety standards.

The Light Assist solution for our stairlifts illuminates the seat, and footrest, setting a new benchmark in home mobility by enhancing safety, comfort, and visibility, guiding users for secure and confident stairlift operation.

AGILE enables riders to reach their destination faster by efficiently allocating people to elevators by floor. Allows real-time passenger flow adjustment and personalized touchscreens and dial-up terminals.

The new HoloLinc process enables customers to view a stairlift solution in their own homes and get their customized solution up to 4x faster.

TKE opens the iconic Rottweil test tower building, which boasts Germany’s highest observation deck at 232m and is home to the first functional unit of MULTI, the world’s first ropeless and bi-directional elevator.

Airbus and airlines partner with TKE to design and install highly engineered passenger boarding bridges at key airports for the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380. The plane measures as long as two blue whales and as tall as five giraffes.

TWIN, the world’s first elevator with two independent cabins in one shaft, finds its first of many homes at the University of Stuttgart.

TKE installs world’s longest escalator

At 100 meters long and a 30% slope, the world’s longest escalator at that time goes into operation at the Namesti Miru subway station in Prague, thanks to TKE.

Our beginnings

Our beginnings

Our history dates to the 1860s and 1880s with our predecessor companies in Hamburg and Stuttgart, Germany and their first vertical people conveyor, the Paternoster, in 1890 and Germany’s first escalator in 1906. In the 1950s, former Thyssen Industrie acquired a stake in these companies.
